Post Got my AC Fixed...Finally

After sweating like a pig last summer I finally "bit the bullet" and had my AC fixed Friday. What difference! Remfgr'd Comp, New Receiver/Dryer, all new O-rings and charged with R134a. It blew cold as hell on Sunday - about 90 in L.A. and humid.

I thought I was getting a super deal, now I'm not so sure. The Tweeks catalog just happened to arrive in Saturday's mail. The compressor from them was $310 (The mechanic said his cost was $300, usually charges $425) and the Reciever/Dryer was about $40 plus (?). The wrench charged me about $100 - again supposedly "his cost" - all becuase of a couple of recent referral customers I made to him.
Good shop, I like the owner and the work, I just don't know if the price was as "great" as represented.
EDIT- Oops, P.S. Total bill with tax about $688.
