Post How much is my 944 worth??

Since I might be selling the car within the month, I wanted to know what I should be asking for the car.
Sorry for the non tech post, but I just needed some opinions:
1984 944
red, manual, 129000KM, no winters.
Skirt kit on the sides, and turbo valence in the back (evaluated at 2000$ in 1993)
Here are all the repairs done within the last 1000km.
Rebuilt transmission (syncros, throw out bearing, gaskets and more)
New Sachs Power Clutch
Changed master and slave clutch cylinder
Changed timing belt, balance shaft belt, and tensioners.

I have all the receipts and receipts of previous owner...that when totalling up, equals more than 9500$ of repairs in the last 7 years.
Previous owner was an elderly man if that means anything
No rips in seat
A few small dash cracks
Paint was just retouched (not original paint)..overall 9/10

The car needs the following repairs:
1) new tires
2) alignement
3) missing a back side sticker

I don't know if the car was ever accidented..probably was.

All electrics work (I have to change light of clock...).
Now, what should I be asking for this car? I've put like 3000km on it in the last 3 years. It starts fine, has major work all done...etc. I'd be willing to buy a good set of used tires and throw them in. Is asking 10 000$ Canadian too much? I;ve seen a lot 86 944's NA for sale, askign between 9500-13000$ CDN? Seems as thought the value of 944's has went up??
Anyways, some opinions please, and once again sorry for the non technical post.
Thank you,
Mike

I ran your car through the private party selling price section of Kelly Blue book .com

I gave you the benefit of the doubt and gave your car the highest condition rating "excellent".

I imagine if I was buying the car for real I would not call it excellent due to repairs needed and repaint, plus it may have been in an accident. I didnt know all the details of your car like cd player and leather interior so I also just guessed you had these things.

Total Price = 3000.00 us

I dont know what that equates to cdn but that is what a smart american buyer is going to expect to pay at the absolute most.

Most people dont care about body kits and add on wings or valences, I would think they would want the car to be stock/original.

If I was going to buy your car I would come armed with a carfax and a BlueBook printout and negotiate from there.

A friend of mine just bought an '83 with 69K miles for $2500. Interior is mostly great. Peeling paint on the nose that a bra took care of. Otherwise fine running car. Just a little basis for comparison for you.

I've 'invested' over $30,000 (CDN) in my '83. I had it appraised a couple of years ago for $11,500.
I called a salesman at a nearby Porsche dealer to inquire what the car might be worth. With all the r&r done, he told me a figure of 15-$16,000 wouldn't be out of sight! May be hard to believe, but I kid you not.
I guess it depends somewhat on the location of the prospective car as well. There aren't many around in my neck of the woods, so perhaps the rarity factor contributes to driving the price up somewhat. If people care to tell me my car's only worth $4000, I just walk away. Don't let people lowball the value of your car. But, the bottom line is, it's worth whatever someone wants to pay for it... <img src="graemlins/soapbox.gif" border="0" alt="[soapbox]" />
