The plastic pieces are original parts intended for the 924 carrera front plate. Any Porsche dealer should be able to get them.

That is my general idea of America, people complain about having to wait in line but want to point the finger when something bad happens when there isn't a line.

If the line is too long the service is not good enough, that is an undisputable fact!
As you describe americans, they do not tolerate being pushed around, they expect action and things to be taken care of properly. I would consider that a great qualification.
I can not speak for germans, but norwegians in general have a more "sheep like" attitude. They accept how the system is and believe that there is really nothing to do about it.

What comes to living standards of Finland we are like Norway & all the other Nordic countries.
I have lived almost two years in Los Angeles and can say of my own experience that its much safer in the Nordic countries. All environmental issues are handled better here. For some reason your president refuses to sign the international agreements on nature issues.
We have free education in all levels (including university) even for foreign students. Most people can speak & write at least three languages etc.etc.
Most europeans know much more what is happening in our world. Most US citizens know only what is happening in their own state! Visitid two years ago in Houston TX.The only news i was able to see was Houston or Texas news!
The basic education in the US is poor! I spent over a year in high school there and could compare school systems.Luckily you have so many people there that there are also smart people there with good education.I must say the smartest US people seems to be here on Rennlist.
I suppose most americans should show some interest on other countries too.You should take example from Canadians.I have lot of Canadian friends and they seems to know a lot what is happening outside North America

I believe there should be a balance between an "I've got my rights!" attitude and the "Whatever you say is ok by me" attitude.
I think this difference is a result of a captialistic society vs. a socialistic society. Both systems have their benefits and drawbacks.
Bear in mind this fact: most non-USA people are exposed to only what is referred to as the "upper crust" of the USA: these are the rich people who travel a lot, and who typically are "over the top" (Loud mouthed, gum chewing, back slapping 'merican) They have the attitude: "I'm better than you." (And they feel this way not because they are American, but because they are rich snobs!) It's always the loud-mouthed minority that gets all the attention.
And regarding visiting LA and Texas: we're still trying to reprive their statehood! (Just kidding). But don't forget: the attitudes of people who live in California or Texas don't necessarily reflect the attitude of the rest of the nation! (Regarding education, I'm not sure, but I bet that the Texas education system is not one of the top systems in the USA: this primarily due to the influx of immigrant workers from the south, ie Mexico. Not a mock on Texas, just a fact of life in the south!)
So yes, America has it's problems, but I don't think it's fair to develop such a negative attitude based on such small exposure.
Peace,

The nose panel grills for the 924T were to aid in cooling the intercooler and engine compartment because of the turbo charger.
When you put them on cars that have the air cleaner behind the nose panel then change the factory labyrinth air cleaner to one of the cone types you are just asking for trouble because of the chance of water ingestion.
The worst example of this is one I've seen in the last couple of weeks where the owner actually cut a long oval hole in the nose panel then cut lots of round holes in the front side of the air cleaner behind it. Directly facing the oval nose panel hole. Not really a sign of intelligence.
What may look "cool" is not necessarily so.
As to the "other" discussion:
I was attempting to point out to some that wondered about putting so much money into an older chassis "why"; excessive taxation.
As has been noted by Eirik Kvello-Aune; no one really knows where their (European) excessive taxation goes to.
The only reason for fuel taxes over and above the cost of building related transportation infrastructures is to support socialist welfare projects. By giving away free lunches our closet socialists, democrats, gain and retain power.
It's a major misunderstanding that America is a democracy. It's not. We do not have a majority rule. We are a constitutional representative republic. We have constitutional protections from the tyranny of the majority.
As to how other countries "feel" about the U.S.:
I and most other Americans really don't give a flying crap what the rest of the world thinks about us. This is only reinforced by stupid remarks like "trigger happy cowboy".

Eirik: Excellent! (both car and statements about Amerika - so damn sad, but true. it's hard for people to see these things from the inside (domestically) when the media turns a blind eye - that's why it's a good idea to get additional news from foreign web sites - Cowboy Bush is trying too hard to be a World Policeman and Europe + the world knows it!)...
porsche-wise and back to the point: any ideas from those about there about what i can be inspired to do for my 924, 2.0l (77)?
