I think you can search Google, Yahoo, and Alta Vista and you should find a few interst sites. Also 924.org may have some.
Keep in mind that it's a 924 GTP, not a 944.

They had a write up in Excellence a few issues back. I would scan and post for you but I have no scanner. They showed some interior photos.
Perhaps someone else can help?

I thought there was a 944GTP b/c in '86, when the Turbo ads were running, there was one w/hte GTP on the left and the 951 on the right- it listed the specs of each underneath their respective pics- I remember it showing the GTP as having 410HP and weighing 2040lbs....

Race Car
The 944's, '83-up are the same as the 924GTP, minus of course the race goodies...
Porsche wanted to keep the new model (not yet introduced) quiet. So the car was entered as the 924 (already existing)....
There was an internal fued at Porsche's racing hierarchy, that questioned what Porsche's "future" in racing "should" be....
Some felt all out victory, something missing at the current time, since the withdrawal of the GT-1, 3-4 years ago, was the way to go, and the guy in control at the time of the racing program wanted to see the 924-944 (his pet project) compete in a lesser class.
The car's results (7th overall) were due to it's excellent fuel economy and minimal time spent in the pitlane for service.
Grand touring "race" and "prototype" were two seperate classes, and the 924 GTP (prototype), was in essence a 944...
The Flat Six site shows several 944GTR photo's that I wasn't aware that Porsche ever made, but these cars were raced in Trans Am competition as well, IIRC, and since it was no longer a prototype, and the 944 had been released by then anyway, it would have no longer had the name 924GTP anyway, and it would have served Porsche to have the success transfered to the newly introduced model.
I'm building a track car rigtht now also, and am modeling it as a replica of the 924GT LeMans, I'll post some pics when I get the bumper cover and fenders mounted...
I think the Porsche factory designation for this car was 939.......

I was planning on using the gt-racing body kit. since franks shop is only 2 min from my work.
what kit did you use??
and also. how was the fitting of these parts?? the only pieve about GT-racing parts is that there is not enough material to mount the pannels with.. it seems like they need like um 2 mm. more fiberglass.
oh. and since you ahve taken this endevor. did you use the 924 chassis or the 944..
