Later today I'm going to pull the rocker cover off the cylinder head of a 1998 Honda that looks like it has a pretty old and hard gasket on it... I'm pretty sure the gasket is not going to come off in one piece. I've ordered a new gasket, but it will take a week or so to arrive.
So... I was thinking of putting it back together temporarily and just using some moly grease or similar to patch up the old gasket for a few days until the new one arrives. Anyone got any better suggestions for a temporary gasket repair?

Permagasket Permatune or whatever makes a RTV/silicone that should work. Run a bead on the valve cover let it sit for a few hours to harden and not squish, put the sucker on voila.*** Works in a pinch but not a PERMANENT fix.*** It's also murder to clean off. You might want to have a gasket scraper or razorblades handy.
