Default S2 Track build: Track wheels - Not bad for rattle can...

Status 04/12/09 - The car is still at J3. the last bits are being completed on the 968 engine and the S2 engine is now with its new owner in Alabama.

My weekend project - to clean up and refinish my set of 996/boxster Twist track wheels. So I headed down to my local AutoZone and picked up a few cans of the Dupli-Color Wheel paint in bronze. yep...bronze. Why you ask? Cuz I like it, that's why.

So I scrubbed them with Simple Green, then sanded them till I had no fingerprints left. Cleaned them again with lacquer thinner and stated painting. And the results (from 5' away) look pretty darn good if I say so myself.

2 coats of bronze on the outside with a coat of black on the inner portion of the rim. I then clear coated the lot with a good couple of coats.

Not too shabby...

That actually looks really good and should look excellent on the white car.

Not at this rate.

The S2 motor just came out on Friday. We are still installing preventive maintenance parts on the 968 motor. Hoping it will go in Tuesday or Wednesday with ease. (crossing fingers.)

I am READY to drive this beast.
