Perry951 LED gauge lighting install
Perry what a great job on the LEDs and tunnels! Install was a breeze! I took a bit more time as I prefer to remove the steering wheel and air bag as to have more room.
The new LED lights are brighter, more all around light, that to me is easier on the eyes since it is more white than yellow tint. All the gauges have plenty of light. The needles show up bright too.
Great idea and product!
Thanks.

Bret -
Glad you like them. Let us know what you think of the instructions. I hate buying things that have horrid instructions, even if I don't need them. It is good to toss in with the other paperwork on the car.
To the rest of you guys who ordered them, I will contact you when they are ready to go out the door. I am doing a set about every 2 or 3 days, so it is going to be a bit yet. I have to get my car done and on the road ASAP, so that has taken priority. I also broke a mold, so that is slowing the process. I just cast the 2nd half of it tonight, so it should be ready to roll on Tuesday.
Trust me, it is worth the wait. I have also been contacted by a good number of you wanting to order. I am doing a run of 25 kits, 9 of them are out the door already. When that is done, 100% of my time will be finishing my ride. I will do another run of 25 sometime in March, so I will make a post to order them, same as last time.
Pricing will be $110 a kit, $90 for Rennlist members. At the $80 I am charging now, I am not going to make more than $200 profit. I am more than happy making them for you, but $10 profit just is not worth the 3 hours work per set.
Thanks again.

Also, here is a pic of mine, and I am hoping that some of you that have them can snap a few so I can see them in other cars.

Perry, instructions were excellent. My light is not quite as bright as yours, it is just a touch "softer" I guess. Where your pic has some brighter trails of light, mine is pretty much even all the way across the instrument cluster. But the light is so white.
I thought about sanding the end pc I guess where you cut the mold, then polish it off a bit but 4yo hands were getting closer and closer,,LOL!
I'll try to post a pic later tonight.

I am taking money as the kits are ready to go out. You should get an e-mail Tuesday, you are number 10. I am casting set 11 now, 12 tomorrow night. I send them out in groups of 3 to make it easier on the trip to the post office.
I used diffrent LED's on my kit, 15 of them too. The new kits have 9 and are diffused better. I have some bright spots, and 1 dark spot in my pic, and with the new ones, they are gone, and it is not as intesnse.
I like the kits I am sending out to you guys better than the one I made. That is why I want to see some pics of other setups.
Bret - what part did you want to grind on? As you can tell, where the LED's are, they are shaved down. This is how you get the even light. I would not mess with that too much, since I grind each reflector to produce the best output. Be careful on other areas.. I would not want to see one get cracked, although they are pretty durable.

The early cars can be done, but I am having a hell of a time casting the bulbs as to get good light dispersion. I snagged a gauge from my dad's 911 to test with, and I have failed to get it where I want it.
I'll keep trying, but it is gonna be a while. Good thing is that once I have this, the 911 and early 944 series dashes will be taken care of.
