944S2NUT - They are definatly stock on the 944 Lux in the UK. I like my phone dials, but you organize me a set of 16" Fuchs with black centers and polished rims and you can have mine!

Harry - I just went and looked at your car again, the 912 was a car I considered, when the bug or Porkloving hit me. My only complaint, and please don't take offence at this, (remember, I am a crazy Englishman), is that your stone chip cover, spoils that great front of your car. I just love the look of that 912, 911 body shell

Bad news, unless UK cars are different (other than being driven from the passenger seat) Fuchs are not an option for you. Fuchs were only made for pre-1986 cars and would not fit the later offset of your '89. Spacers don't help for this as the offset is already too far out and spacers can only make that worse.
There is one thing you could try, there are several companies that make custom, 3-piece wheels using the centers from 6x16 Fuchs, one of these companies should be able to make you a set with the correct offset in either 16" or 17" and in the width of your choice. Expect to pay more than you would for a set of used Fuchs, but you would be getting NEW custom made wheels. IIRC they start around $500 (US) each.

Thanks, too bad it's in a thousand pieces right now.
The K&N is just the filter in the stock airbox, not a cone kit, I installed it and the chip the same afternoon. I did take a short drive between the 2 parts and felt more "seat of the pants" improvement from the filter than I did from the chip (the previous paper filter was almost brand new and not clogged). I highly reccomend the same filter set up, it should provide almost as much air as a cone without drawing hot air from right behind the radiator. I have not yet ruled out trying a different chip with the new motor.

There were a few threads on the 3-piece Fuchs that included the sources, check the archives for them.

now if they make the magnetic ones for the 944, get it. ive seen so many 944 bras (well the head lamp covers of them) get blown off the car when driving. sure they pulled off the side, and went back to get them, but still a pain in the ***. (also looks funky and blown up with all the air traveling into them, getting inflated) <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

that sucks about the fuchs (the news dave told you) hopefully you can find somthin, or find a way to work it out, cause those would look great on yours. oh and by the way, crazy Englishmen are cool... Alain De Cadinet (hopefully i spelled his name correctly) is the craziest brit ive ever seen, and he is a god to me (how can any one man know so much about cars)?
