Unhappy Oil leak, crap!

Well after 4 months of ownership I finally have a
small problem. Got an oil leak! Changed the oil
and filter 2 weeks ago, 92k miles, and in 230 mi.
it has lost half a quart of oil. Rustproofed the
whole left underside. Appears to be coming from
somewhere near the oil cooler. I guess its time
to put in those new seals that have been sitting
in the drawer for the last couple of months.
Hope it's just arrround the housing, kind of hard
to check when it's all slimy but was able to
determin it's NOT the crank shaft seal.

Slightly off topic:
Terrifing thought: A redkneck in a Cayenne towing
a Bass boat to Lake Okechobee with empty cans of
Skol all over the dashboard! Enough to make you
shudder! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

Just for fun,
Bill

I agree with Hans. You have leaking on the outside of the motor. Since this is the first time you have changed the filter I would look to make sure you don't have 2 rubber seals or somesuch in the interface of filter and the boss.

I would also look real good at the sender on the cooler, they leak! Also if you went from dyno oil to synthetic,in older hi mileage cars will leak out of the seals. I could be off base here but something to consider. D

Yes, do all the above. If you feel is the seals, also check the coolant and validate there is no mixing.
