Never seen a n/a non s or s2 car with airbags for any year. Never seen a turbo without dual airbags unless its an 86. Never seen single air bag. I have seen over 100 of these and owned more than 50 in the last 10 years.....just my 2 cents.

According to 944s.com the 944 S was the first porsche to have dual airbags standard, but that could be wrong.

Yeah I meant to say optional, but then submitted accidentally and forgot about it.

Just guessing, but you are refering to US cars.
Cause we have plenty of those variations here in Europe, you mentioned..

In our club ( Porsche Club Finland ) we have an S2 with airbags, and Turbo '87 without airbags ..
Just to mention couple..

So does anyone know of any 944's that did or did not deploy airbags correctly during a collision in the last few years. I'm kinda wondering if they are still likely to be functional after 15 years. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

good question.
I believe, that factory recommends, thar airbags should be cheacked and maintained periodically ( 8-to years, or something like that).
What that cheacking and maintaining means, no idea?!?!

Anyway, I guess, that the "airbag" warning light is there for a reason, so I take it, mine are ok?!
