Reasonable?

I would advise against a 924 turbo - they tend to not be as reliable as N/A's and finding certain parts is hard. Also, the turbo adds a bit of complexity under the hood (although its an oil-cooled turbo, so no water plumbing to deal with, but you still have more potential points of failure than an n/a

You all leave me with a tough decision!
It's definitely going to take more than just buying a car, driving it and maybe occasionally fixing something small if I were to get one of these - that's for sure. I suppose I have the resources to maintain one (friends, friends with garage access, tools etc and especially the willingness to learn), but I probably won't have the funds. Actually I definitely won't.
I mean I still have until the end of the summer to figure this out, who knows maybe I'll land a nicer job than expected.. But for now I'll be looking for another car to set my sights on. Any suggestions? haha

If you are serious about finding one, continue to save and ante up another 1500 or so and you WILL find a worthy NA out there. Patience and research is the key. I have seen a few in the last several months that were well cared for and for one reason or another the owners just had to let them go. And in this economy, usually for a bargian.
For all the naysayers...well...they still own'em, so they can't be that bad
Good Luck with your search and if I can be of any help, just let me know.

And when you do find one that you want, and is good have some spare change to replace any parts thats might be needing replacement. And it takes time to find the right one so be patient.
