Cam shaft seal question
I just replaced the cam seals and when I was replacing the front seal I thought that it seam very tight going on the cam sleeve. It went in fine in the cam housing and I checked and realized I put the wrong seal in, after I put it all together I re checked it the part number. The seal I put in from 944/1 mine being the 944/2 . I held it up to the original seal and it seamed to be the right diameter but tight around the sleeve. Should I take it apart or will it wear out the sleeve faster and I could leave it ?? At this time it is not leaking. Thanks

I guess it's up to you, but I would try to replace it next chance I got. My thinking is that the tight seal will wear a groove into the sleeve and a grooved sleeve will just **** out oil (I mean it will leak like you've never seen). But that likely won't happen for a while. The longer you wait, the more likely you'll also need another sleeve and they're expensive.
