Odometer broke!
lol at least this isn't a mechanical breakdown but I noticed my odometer is no longer turning today...... not shure when it broke but it must have been recently like within the past month......
I installed a new tbelt and balance belt in january 6 and since then I have no idea how many kms i put on the car so i'm not sure when to go back for a retension now..... if I go to early that's bad and if too late then the belt might get too loose and jump time. do timing belts stretch that much? it's a gates belt says to retension after 3000-4000 kms.
anyways how can I fix this? I don't want to pull the dash.
it has stopped at 260000 kms now I will have no idea how many kms I have....

It is actually quite easy to do this, although it can take a bit of time. The fault lies with a small plastic gear in the odometer that disintegrates over time. There is a write up on Clark's Garage on how to do this. You don't need to remove the dash, only the instrument cluster, and then disassemble the odometer. I did this on a late dash car (S2) - might be different on yours.
