Need to clean some stuff out of the garage and try to pay for some of my crazy racing habit. My project 951 has become my parting out 951... just too much time and money to get it into the condition I want. Besides what is listed I will soon have the engine, non-LSD trans with cooler, 16" early phonies, and all suspension items listed... just need to finish getting them out of the car.
I have a ton of stuff but I am too busy right now to even catalog it all. So today I am going to start with the biggest things that are getting in my way all the time. I'll edit it later with some other random crap I have hanging around that needs to go. Shipping is extra on all listed items.
Major stuff
86 951 LSD transaxle *reduced* - $1000... boxed and ready to go. No cooler. Purchased last year from a rennlister to upgrade the project, but it's gotta go!
Redline Rennsport Rollbar - $400. Used one season before I went full cage. Excellent condition with mounting hardware, costs $545 new. Black. FWIW, shipping on these is a PITA.
Rebuilt power steering rack *reduced* - $400. Used for ~2000 miles before conversion to manual. In great condition and still with ZF sticker. Currently has late NA tie rods attached. Paragon sells the rebuilt rack alone for $1045!
Minor stuff
83 NA spindles - $35/pair
951 airbox - $40. 2 busted mounting tabs but works fine
951 intake mani - $50
Brown interior bits by request.
Need other random crap, just ask. I have a garage and attic full of it!

I know when I bought it that John shipped it via Greyhound. I thought at the time he said it was too big for UPS but...
Anything to avoid the Greyhound station!!!! That was super weird.

Trying to educate myself, here.
I've seen transmissions with and without "oil coolers".
Now, what they do is pretty obvious. But this is separate transmission oil, yes? Does this circulate anywhere, or stay in the trans? Does it lubricate the differential as well? How often does it need changing? And much does it heat up and need cooling? Are these oil coolers a standard feature in the stock turbo?
Also, free bump.

The gear oil is a dedicated supply for the transaxle yes. In a 944 the transmission and diff are housed together and share the same oil. In a non-cooler trans, the oil sits in the housing full-time. The cooler option simply adds an external air cooler to circulate the oil through. The capacity goes up a little obviously.
A cooler is a nice option but in my mind only necessary for heave/track use in a turbo. They seem to do fine without. I race my NA with no cooler just fine.
Gear oil life is somewhat subjective. I change it in the race trans at least once a year. That extends to every 2-3 years for a street car. The new Porsches and most other cars the lube is considered 'lifetime' to the manufacturer, which of course means 'life of warranty' or 40-50K miles. My 01 Boxster still has factory fill as far as I know, with 62K miles on it.

To follow on to Whisper's question - what circulates the oil through the cooler in the transaxles with coolers? Does it have something like an oil pump that is driven off of the input shaft?
