Default Steering column flip switch

I just purchased an 87 Turbo to go along w/a 90 S2 and a 928S4. I was looking under the dash of the turbo and noticed a flip switch/toggle directly under the steering column built into the steering column. Appears to be factory does anyone know what it is for?

Just had a thought...did FR Wilk make chips for turbos? If he did, this may be to toggle back and forth from the factory chip-settings to the remapped settings on one of his piggy-back boards.

Here's his site....http://www.powerprom.info/

It appears that he did/does make a chip for 951's....you may want to investigate your DME to see if it's got any odd looking wires that run to the toggle switch you mentioned.

Otherwise my guess would be non-factory alarm as well.
