Ummm, when I did mine, I installed the bottom to the fender wall, then lifted up on the hood until the mounts lined up... and pushed in the pin to secure them to the hood... Are you sure you got the right struts?

Their eyes make excellent hood ornaments as well, or they can be used as filters for interior lights...

No, that doesn't work with the S2 cabrio hood, the hood has stops and it doesn't even go 40 degrees I say. What a nightmare. How do you compress the little shocks, I can't believe how strong these ****ing things are, I'm going to blow.

Dude be careful! It DOES not work on a cabriolet at all. You really need 2 people. I tried doing it when it was cold out, lifted up on my hood until it hit the glass, and now i have a huge crack taking up the whole windshield/

Well I'm completely ****ed now, one of the retaining clips flew through the air into the nether region when **** goes never to be found and the other one snapped in half as I was holding the shock with my left hand and almost getting a hernia. I tried hammering it in and it shattered. Mr Porsche **** YOU, nice design.

Just make sure that you leave enough of them so that there will be another generation of baby seals to kill.

I'll take the hides.

Go to an autoparts store and look for a C clip or something that would fit. Theyre bound to have something.

Some day I'll post pics of using two linked Prussik knots and locking the shock in a position where it's shortened about two inches. It's so freaking simple someone with a cracked windshield might shoot me out of rage. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow unless it rains since I have to put new hood shocks on the black car.
