US spec 944 NA tow hooks?
Does anyone know for sure if the US spec 944 NA have the tow hooks like the 951, S2 and Euro 944 NA? If they do, can you enlighten me where and maybe attach a photo. If not, can you tell me where your attachment point is for towing the vehicle forwards?
Thanks!
Thanks!

You'll only have the tow eye bolt if you have the turbo front end. The earlier NA's have/had two plates that attach to the frame with two 10mm bolts. These were usually removed after the dealers got the car. They sometimes show up on eBay. I will try to remember to take a picture of them when I get home.

Mine doesn't ('86). I've only had to have it towed once, but there were a lot of cusses coming from under the car from the tow driver and he made me agree to not claim for damages before he moved off.

I don't have a NA handy to look at but the European cars had a screw point for a tow eye under one of the rubber bumperettes. I think it was the left side one. Wouldn't hurt to take a look and see if the US bumper had the same provision as it seems crazy they would totally ignore the possibility you needed to be pulled.
How are people pulling their NAs up onto flatbeds? I hope they are not wrapping a chain around the control arm. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

The reason I'm asking about the US spec 944 NA here is that someone on a German 944 board
<a href="http://www.dpb-online.com" target="_blank">www.dpb-online.com</a>
owns a US spec 944 NA and asked where to tow if from. I have a 951 and am not familiar with the 944 NA. Please help our German friends if you have a definitive answer. Thanks!

Any other good spots to tow from? Would the crossmember be alright?

i have only had my car towed once, but the driver had towed a few before mine. on the frame rails towards the front, there are holes in the bottom of the frame rail. he just put the hooks in the holes, and pulled her up. i was a little sceptical at first that they would hold without tweeking the frame... but we use the frame rails to lift 944 all the time. there plenty strong.
take care,
