Post Nitrous Oxide 944 S2 or 968

Has anybody done this already ?

Just reading the last issue of the Turbo Magazine and wondering if a NOS System would help a S2 or 968 to get some 20-40% more power ?

If it could be done with a miata - why not with a Porsche ?

most likely it costs less to replace a miata engine.

I have used Nitrous on many cars over the years and have never damaged an engine. Actually I have never seen Nitrous damage an engine period. Overzealous owners on the other hand . . .

I have run Ford Probes (24v 4 Cam 2.5l V6 Mazda engines) up to 90HP extra (60%-65% BHP add) without problem.

Nitrous will make all problems worse, if you have ANY car problems you shouldn't even think about it.

There are quite a few good books on the subject, as well as sites on the net. The key to sucessfully running N2O is research and knowledge - nothing can replace that. People who are afraid of nitrous, have never used it. Those who do should respect it as it is NOT somthing to be toyed with, but its not the big engine eating monster that some make it out to be.

I agree 100% The reason people get into trouble with nitrous is because they try to add way to much horsepower. A fifty to sixty shot of nitrous on a 944, that is set up correctly, is not going to cause problems.

I used to be a big fan of it until it went over $5/lb.

I agree, David..It's great for a quick and dirty power increase...have you had more luck with wet or dry nitrous systems?
I think that a dry system would work easily with the 944..and would be easier to set up than a wet one...what are your thoughts? Thanks, tiger 03447

Supercharging makes more sense but I agree that if Nos is setup right there is nothing wrong with it.
