Post 84 Fuel Injectors - what the heck?

I pulled my fuel injectors today to replace the o-rings and replace a noisy injector. I previously bought a used 84 fuel log with injectors off ebay for $20 to use for a donor injector. I also had the Bosch o-ring kits. I was ready! I began cleaning the injectors and found two of mine to be leaking. One of the leaking ones was the noisy one. As it turned out I used all of my donor injectors because the Bosch kits wouldn't fit my injectors. Both injectors had the same part number, but mine had the yellow spacer ring and the hats were different. I went to Autozone thinking maybe I'd gotten the wrong kits, but none appeared to be for my injectors. So for the heck of it I asked to see the new replacement injectors. They were way different than either of mine. How many different injectors can there be for an 84 944?

It's on the road again and runs fine, no leaks, but that was just strange.
