oops, retail looks to be about $1100. Sounds like a lot until you go price a rebuilt at the dealer for $1850. What you get is a new manufacture tube that is lighter, uses larger bearings that should last longer because of distributed internal loading, and is set up with the proper C4 clearance bearing. There are other rebuilds out there, but from what I've heard, some have high failure rates, others have the tight C3 bearings and since they're made of steel, you don't get any weight savings. I'm working with a couple of track guys at the moment to develop an even lighter tube for dedicated track use. Stay tuned for that one.
