Serial Numbers 924 S ???
A friend pointed out to me today that the serial numbers on the firewall of my 924 S and the windshield differ. I never noticed! The windshield Vin indicates USA model, firewall indicates "rest of the world". The last six numbers agree in both places. Anybody know what's up??????

I got it
The VIN on the firewall is the european VIN. The tag on the windshield is the American VIN, assigned to all cars that PAG sold to American markets. This is why grey market cars only have Euro VIN's
BTW there are also secret VIN's in mysterious locations that help stolen cars get tracked down and found. Ya just gotta know where to look.

finances
yea, well...I went all bonds a year and a half ago. AGAINST my brokers advice. He still thinks I should "Income average" which means buying more stocks now that they are low. No. Now is not the time to put money into stocks. IMHO invest in canned goods and ammo.
Strangely, I tracked the portfolio under both cases. Following my brokers advice would have cost me more than the 928 AND the 924S sitting in the driveway.
Everybody is taking a beating. I thought investing in my hobby would make poor financial sense. It still beat my brokers performance over the last 5 years. Best I can tell you is to get a really crappy broker that gets lots of kickbacks and then do the exact opposite.
924S's are great cars. I have one that I really love to drive. Keep the fluids and timing belts fresh and they just keep on rockin.
