Post Ack! Sunroof problems!

A few days ago, when I tried to take out the sunroof, when the arms retrached, I heard a grinding noise.

Now, when I tilt open the sunroof, it comes up uneven: seems the teeth on the left side must be out of sync.

Is there any easy way to fix this? Can I gently, but firmly pull up on that arm until it is even with the other arm?

I'm hoping I don't have to dive into the micro-switches...etc, and I can live with not being able to remove the roof for now...

Thanks,
-Z.

Stripped gears????
NO, you can not normally pull on the arm without damaging something.
