remove needle bearings while resealing throttle?
I'm resealing the throttle body on my 1983 n/a 944. I'm using Bruce's arnnworx kit, but I've gotten down to the last two seals, which are behind the needle bearings that hold the throttle shaft.
I tried to remove the needle bearings to get the last two seals out, but they aren't budging. I don't want to break them out if they shouldn't come, and the instructions aren't clear about whether they should come out, or if I just need to pry out the seals without moving the bearings.
Any insight?

Ben... don't take the bearing out. They will slide (outward, IIRCC) just a little and leave a gap. That gap is where yur o-ring goes. If you sort of fold up the o-ring a little, it can be slipped into the hole and the pushed into the gap. try it, it works better than it sounds...Bruce

Thanks Bruce
Thanks Bruce.
I was trying to see in the written directions that came with the kit if the needle bearings were removed, and it kind of looked like they were. I was tugging on them and they wouldn't come out.
But...true to your advice above, I just spent a bunch of time picking out the old broken seals, and then squished the new one in there. Very fulfilling, and the vacuum leaks are all gone!
Thanks Bruce for the great kit, and timely advice!
