I agree with MadMax. I just love Porsches and moreover, i love people who love Porsches!
Once, I met a friend of a friend who had a 911. Excitedly, I asked him a couple of the most basic questions, trying to get a conversation started. He had no idea what was in his own car and knew absolutely nothing about it. He bought the car for its image and nothing else. It became clear we didnt have much in common. Thats a shame i thought. I believe he even felt a bit embarassed by his admission. Maybe that was just me feeling a little embarassed for him, having sorta put him on the spot at his own party. Oh well. It wouldnt have mattered what he drove -it was just a car to him.
My point is, if youre a fan of the marque then thats cool and you have something in common with most people here.
I understand where all this competitive squabbling comes from, however, but ultimately were fans of the same team. That said, 944 guys, for instance, feel that we're that part of the populace that has chosen to carry the flag for a series of cars that never quite got to enjoy the widespread adoration and admiration that the 911s have always had. And that is sometimes a bit puzzling, as: A) as the car (n/a or turbo) has a timeless look that is perhaps more unique and beautiful today than it ever has been (ahead of its time?); B) It has always been regarded as one of the best handling cars ever; and C) It represented many technological advances at the time and impacted the industry and spawned or influenced many followers (conquest, rx7, 240sx); and finally, D) these cars have proven to be pretty reliable and long-lasting daily drivers if they're taken care of -a bit of luck doesnt hurt either!
Anyway, now that i've drifted away from my original point -i love Porsches in general, but i REALLY love both my 944s, and hope i always have one. Now, i gotta get back to work!

"What a bunch of fvcking idiots insulting Konstantin in this thread:"
Wow, how ugly. Only goes to show, as a group, the waterboys are definitely of a different culture and attitude than the 911 folks. Why, they even get into arguments amongst themselves about what is a 'real' 911, geesh...
We've gotten into the Porsche vs. SupraTT debate here quite a few times, and it never got that stupid...

I couldnt believe how ignorant some of those guys were, if thats what $$ does to ya, I dont want any.......P.S. I dove into my new project so quickly cauze I just got beat for the 1st time by a modded supra TT. The lisence plate read, "TTBOMB". I needed a rebuild anyway though.
Ive only met one 996 owner who was the slightest bit interested in my car.

These things always come across as surprises to everyone.
I don't understand this.
Just accept that half the other people on the planet are ******** and then there are few surprises.
It matters not what they drive or discuss.
Haven't you ever noticed it's always the guy just before you that pissed on the seat.
