Talking Spark plug wires

I have a set of Magnecor plug wires for my '88 Turbo S and find them very difficult to fit the plug holes. One of them fits flush but the other three seem to stick out of the hole a bit. Should I twist them into the hole or continue to push down? I dont want to tear them. Thanks...

I do not know how the fit is for the 8v cars but on my 944S-NA these wires fit perfect. Are the wires fully seated on the plugs? The grommet that fills the plug hole is flexible, maybe you just need to gently push this down? <img src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" border="0" alt="[cheers]" />
