the reason for the "My other car is a Porsche" bumper sticker is to give credibility to the fact you have a beater.. you are supposed to put that bumper sticker on an old beat up car just as a joke.. if you really put it on your car, people will take it as a joke. kinda like "my other car is a ferrari," and you drive a pinto.

its like this kid at my school who has a 944. he lets his key fob with a big polished gold porsche logo hang out his pocket for everyone to see. it just ruins the whole thing.

just dont do it.

How's about:

"My other car is evidence that I've fallen hook, line and sinker for the materialism of the dominant culture and I own way too much stuff because nobody really needs more than one car and I have three, so maybe I should focus on acquiring material goods less and on my spiritual development more before Death, destroyer of worlds and leveler of all, puts his nasty crumbly hand on my shoulder and pulls me into oblivion."

..... nah.... too wordy... maybe it would fit on the minivan...

For me (to appease Shaun and Deni), it would need to say something like:

"If I flash you and give you the thumbs-up, it's not because I am some sort of stalker or idiot savant. I merely wanted to show my enthusiasm for you fine german vehicle, and let you know that mine is at home in the garage, tucked away lovingly until I bring it out for the weekend to play. I would have just put a bumper sticker on this vehicle that says [My other car is a Porsche], but that may be too pompous and upset others, So I have opted for this PC sticker instead."

Better?

I do consider stickers to be the ulitimate proof of incompetence.
In my area (Amsterdam, where things dropped get snatched before they even reach the ground), the following could however be taken in consideration:

THIS PROPERTY IS PROTECTED BY AN PITBULL WITH AIDS

Finally someone who understands. This is intended to put on a BEATER car, at least thats what I want to do. If you look up beater car in the dictionary you will find this:

1986 Toyota Camry

I put the headlights back in since.... Does this qualify for a sticker? I think so. Maybe its just my 20s humor that others don't get.

"My other car has a "Porsche" emblem on it, but the purists do not recognize it as one of the marque"

Now, THERE'S truth in advertising

is that plate real or photoshop?! i had no idea you could get away with painfully obvious short hand for profanity on a license plate in new york.

(and i did 4 years of undergrad there).

I thought about getting one of those small Porsche emblem stickers from Tweeks (about 2 ½” high) and putting it on the lower left of the rear window of my other vehicles.

"Maybe its just my 20s humor that others don't get."

My neighbors hate my "have you slugged your child today" sticker on the back of my beater they seem to think it degrades the snottiness of the neighborhood, and I am over 40. But since I actually have money instead of credit and a leased car, screw them

I have one of these stickers on my Suzuki Sidekick.

I thought about the decision to put it on for a loooong time. You see, the Sidekick isn't really that much of a beater - so having this sticker confuses people. This sticker is usually on Chevettes or such cars.

If you do have an extream beater and put this on - people will say, "That's funny and sooo cheesy". Then you can say, "But it's actually true - my other car IS a Porsche". If the car is NOT a beater, people will think, "Hey, that car is not that bad - why the sticker? I wonder if his other car really IS a Porsche".

Either way, the "My Other Car Is A Porsche" sticker is a must have for the non-Porsche car you own.

You can tell you're in a Porsche forum when about 65% of the people don't truley understand the thinking behind the invention of said sticker. It's a Wal-Mart thing!!

My shop (i.e, the one I pay, not the one I own)(Stuttgart SW, Tempe AZ) has one that says "Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar." Heh.

With a PC, an inkjet printer, and the Porsche font - there's no limit to what you can do.

You could make your own bumper sticker. See the Porsche license plate frame on my 944? I made that using some sticker paper (you can get at Wal-Mart for $7 a pack).

Obviously, I have waaaay too much time on my hands.

BTW, I have two new license plates coming in a couple of weeks (they are on order): TYPE944 and TYPE986. Woo hoo!
