Post My first oil change

Everything went OK and didn't lose anything at the filter, I think that was because I hadn't run the car for a few days. The big Q is, and color me stupid, but what is the correct oil lvel indication on the stick.

Pretty sure it's halfway between the two lines.

And HOW ON EARTH did you not lose any out the filter??? I have yet to master that. I lose 5-10 quarts easy out the filter when I change...

negative.
This is the proper oil level. More than this ammount could cause oil frothing

----Top

----bottom of top line
****Proper oil level here, in middle of the middle section
----top of bottom line

- Bottom

Thank you very much for the info on oil level. As for losing oil at the filter i was surprised too. i was ready for it. I started rigging a funnel out of foil but that was a mess so I tied a bag on the base of the filter and started loosening. NO OIl came out of the filter. It is a Bosch and feels heavy so I expect its got oil in it. The only mess was a couple of drops. The real mess was when i poured the old oil into the empty containers. Lucky for me I had plastic down but it was not pretty.

If the S2 is anything to go by when the oil level is at the halfway mark - where SlechtSpecht recommends it - then THAT'S where the oil level warning light comes on and it needs topping-up
