Post 968 Con Rods... made of chocolate or..?

I heard a rumour that the standard con rods in 968's were rubbish.. and that one should fit the forged rods from a 944 turbo... is this true?

What will happen if we run endurance racing with a 968 1992 engine with the standard rods..??

Thanks for any advice or horror stories.

Ciao..

Mike.

Forged rods are in the 86 turbo. Other models were cast. Powerhaus in AZ has quite a bit of experience with this. You could ask them their opinion.

From Peter Morgan's book, "The pistons and rods were forged and significantly lightened, with the undersides of the pistons cooled by an oil spray similar to that used on the 911." He was describing the improvements made to the motor from that of the S2.
