Post AC Heating

OK another AC problem. My car usually runs at a temp of between 1 and 2 bar. However when I run the AC the car starts to get hot. I have a 30 min. commute everyday. When I run the AC, about 15 mins into the trip the heat is edging past 2nd bar, at about 20mins it’s at the 3rd bar. If I turn the AC off the temp slowly drops back down to normal.

The 2nd fan is running with the AC on so the fans are working correctly.

Any other ideas ?

Thanks
Chris

Two mostly lame thoughts...

A) Check the front of the radiator / condenser for leaves & trash.

B) Confirm that the 2nd fan is turning in the right direction so air flows from front to back thru the radiator. Wires do get swapped sometimes, and polarity matters with DC.

Also check to be sure all air is bled from the cooling system.

Not much help here, I'm afraid.

Thanks for the thoughts Jim. I bled the cooling system one more time to be on the safe side and not a single air bubble came out, so think its pretty well bled. Double-checked the fans and they are both blowing in toward the engine pulling air through the radiator. Lastly I took the hose and washed the few dead crickets out of the radiator. Tried it again on the way in this morning and the heat started rising again.

Could the AC pull the engine down enough to overheat?

Thanks
Chris
