My rear hatch was tinted in one piece. It can be done, but it helps if the tint shop already knows how to do it! My car was sort of a special case...a challenge for the guys to do in one piece. Turned out beautifully...

Actually, we don't go through german inspections at all. So, yes, they do get us out of them. We fall under the "other" category, as in the same category of "we won't pay your freakin' taxes either!!!"

It's quite nice.

Mike - the flightline shuttle. No offense to the army, but grunty grunt, grunters grunt grunts, grunt. Have fun on the ride home!!!

FWIW, my 951S cabrio pays less registration taxes in Europe than my 944S2 cabrio does in the U.S., so you're simply not being "double taxed" assuming you already pay them in the States.

Depending on your home state in the U.S. European taxes may actually be lower, as was my experience.

Sure is nice to get around TüV inspection, though.

In a lot of states you pay a one time tax based on the price of the car. I haven't ever paid that much for registration, plus we don't get inspected where i live in tennessee. I couldn't imagine having to deal with the TUV. That would be next to impossible to report everything that you do to your car.

BTW-Mike- I've got a business proposition for you when you get back...

Yes, we don't live far from bitburg. The beer isn't bad. Mike doesn't drink beer, the sticker came with the car.

What beer would you recommend? Mixery? <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" /> <img src="graemlins/cussing.gif" border="0" alt="[grrrrrrr]" /> <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

i like krystal weissen also. There was a paulaner Oktober Fest beer that i had this fall. it was great. Real dark. I couldnt find it ever again though.
Once i had a Hoffbrough house (sp?) beer, bottled. I looked everywhere for it and couldnt find it. I went back and asked the waitress where they bought it, and she wouldnt tell me, or couldnt understand me. If you ever run accross hoffbrough house botteld, let me know

I totally agree about the Paulaner. I went to oktober fest this year too. They sell that hoffbrough house around here... They only sell the Paulaner in Bayern i think.

Bitburger? Headache in a bottle, the only good thing about Bitburger was the bitte ein bit sticker. If you did some cutting and rearranging you could make a Bite me sticker out of it . Try Bischoff Bier, it's better and it's brewed just down the road from Sembach in Winnweiler.

I don't care what you say, bitburger is good beer. My in-laws and all of their friends love it. I don't like bischoff, but karlsburg is pretty good. The hefe weizens are pretty good too. We have a local bar here called the Markthalle and they brew their own beer, not too shabby.

Like Jon said it was a unwanted piece that came with the car. I would take it off but I am afraid the paint is faded under it.

I don't even drink beer!

So what do you do over at Ramstein?
