Smile Starts, but sounds extremely strange 944 NA, Also Need a Fuel Rail

Finally after much hard work. . . I got my car started , but now when it starts, I have a massive fuel leak out of my Fuel Rail, anyone have a good rail that is compatabile with an 83 NA? I bought one before but it was weird and the pipe configuration was different than the current one that I have. Second when the car is running it sounds really loud, kinda like a disel engine, and sort of like it doesnt have any oil. It DOES have oil, i checked, and when i crank my oil pressure goes up to about 2.5 bar, didnt get a chance to look at it while it was running for the 5 seconds before i shut it off. The next time i run it ill check, but do you guys have any idea?

This one looks like an "early style" fuel rail, and the price is right:

Hope this helps.

thats the same configuration as the one that doesnt work, on my rail the line that connects to the end of the rail on the ebay rail connects to the bottom of my damper, so there are only two connetions for fuel to it, one that connects to the damper and the other is the return line from the pressure regualtor. . . i dunno mine might be weird but its an 83 and my rail has expoy all over it so i would like to find a better one

If the car has not run in a while and you trust the oil pressure gauge to be accurate, then it is probably the cam followers/lifters. They rely on being pumped up with oil so they can function in between the cam and valve. When they sit a long time they drain out and it takes a bit of running time for them to refill... Now I must tell you I have not heard the noise myself so there is no way I can say for sure that is what it is, but this is common on these cars.

i belive that, because i only ran the car for like 10 seconds, i got the rail back in just in time for the rain to start pouring but i had to crank it to see if it would start, and it did so i was happy, but the noise scared me a little so i shut it off and closed it up. . . ill run it for a little while longer next time see if the noise ceases. thanks for the input
