Older block, pre 85.5, in a post 85.5 car.

Old block has blind hole for single pole smaller threaded sensor.

New block has larger threaded hole through to water jacket for two function temp sender.

Old single pole temp sender has slightly different resistance scale for temp than the newer longer two function temp sender.

So gauge in later dash will not show correct temp with early single pole sender.


Also the AFS and the idle control valve are different from the early model to the later model NA.
