I have emissions testing this October and was wondering if it's even worth it to install my testpipe. Has anyone passed emissions in NY with a testpipe and chips? I passed on chips last year, so that shouldn't affect anything, especially since I now have GURU chips.

I've heard of people passing emissions with no cat in other states, though I dont remember hearing about NY.

If they do a serious inspection, which includes a visual and checking for a cat...you will fail, though.

Hehe, the shop where I got mine inspected never even pulled it in the shop. Guy just walked out & changed the sticker. Good thing too since at that point in time my parking brake and one of my licence plate lights didn't work.

I just had mine done and frankly my car has no business on the streets anymore... Well I passed... Become real friendly with the mech. and they're more willing to just smile and look the other way. When he asked me if I had a cat, I said ABSOLUTLY, and he didn't bother really checking...

PS Just remember to tip your friendly mechanic when he/she does you a favor. That always ate me up, smiley person needs a favor once a year then says thanks and leaves....
