Mike, it's clear that the Dynapack data for 968's is meaningless. The torque peak is off by almost 1000 revs from where it should be, and we cannot tell the hp peak because we can't see it!! At any rate, the hp peak should be a t 6100 rpm, and both yours and mine is still climbing above 6300. This is how yours, mine, and Jason's all look. Therefore, the hp and torque numbers are bogus.

Next time my car is going on a dyno, it won't be a Dynapack. I wouldn't even use this as a tuning tool-how could you program a Unichip using this if the data is so skewed?

Sorry, I think Rick and the Deman guys are great, but there must be a software problem internally causing this error.

Here's mine:

I posted it in the 944NA dyno charts thread but I figured I'd throw it up here too. Mine is strange as well as I'm about 10HP and 10TQ down on fairly similiarly prepped 944spec racers. The main difference is I still have a cat. I'm not sure if the cat could make that much of a difference or if there is something wrong with my runs as well.

I thought 944 torque peak occurs at 3000 rpm??

Damian,

Ken's charts are correct.

Compare to the first 2 charts (both on a dynojet 248C): <a href="http://members.rennlist.com/m758/944SpecDynoCharts.htm" target="_blank">http://members.rennlist.com/m758/944SpecDynoCharts.htm</a>

The scale of the dynapack dyno makes the little changes look huge.

EDIT:
Specfically, this chart...it even had the torque drop at the begining of the pull.

Yeah, overall the chart looks good, it's just a bit down on power than what the spec guys are getting. I'm happy overall as it at least shows my engine is healthy. It just makes me wonder if the cat is really worth 10HP? Or what #'s I'd see if he brought it to redline. My HP doesn't look like it's dropping and if you extrapolate it looks like it'll hit 125 at 6500. That's not to shabby then.

If you haven't seen it yet, check out <a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=022768#000000" target="_blank">this thread.</a>

The boost pressure chart indicates something is really way off because Dan Gallagher's car is hardly making any boost at 3000 rpms, which is not right for a K26/6. When the boost comes on, it's at high rpm's, so naturally the maximum torque appears at high rpm's. Either there's a problem with the boost control system on that car, or the dyno have not been loading the engine sufficiently at lower rpm's.
