dead clutch?

Exclamation dead clutch?

i went to leave a buddies house this morning and to my surprise my car wont stay running without throttle and runs horrible and spits lots of white smoke and the clutch pedal goes all the way to the firewall and stays. no pressure. not sure what could have happened in the matter of overnight. 1984 model manual transmission

Bad master/slave cylinder.

It leaked fluid into the vacuum booster, so you lost pressure in the pedal, then the engine sucked it all out, so you have white smoke.

ooohh ok thanks just weird it happened over night...must have been failing or leaking cause i had the brake warning light on

not as simple as refilling the resovoir and bleeding something?

Nope, you're going to have to replace the master or slave cylinder.
