Smile Complete vacume hose and clamp KIT??????

I am about to replace ALL the vacuum lines under the hood of my car just to make sure they are right. Is there or is there not a complete aftermarket kit we can buy to accomplish this without having to guess how much hose and how many clamps we need???????

No, there is not.

People here have talked about recording results of vacuum hose replacement so one could at least start with a list of what it takes. This has been about 2 years and not much progress yet.

Thumbs up

I am also replacing the vacumm lines. I got the lines from Auto Zone and will try to re-route them so that I avoid routing them under the intake manifold. As it turns out I found one that was in pretty bad shape (like if it had melted or had been crushed).

May as well Tabo. I was thinking about it and even have wholesale accounts set up with the manufacturers and a bunch of hose and nickel brass T's samples. Then got distracted by work and the headlight kit.

Tabo,
This company (no affiliation) has "universal kits" that come in various colors. You can also buy plastic T's and Y's from them.

Don't get the universal kit as it has hose sizes you will never use as it is directed at Ricers' cars and the things they do. You don't want this extra hose laying around at over a buck a foot.

The plastic connectors aren't exactly the way to go given a real brass or stainless T doesn't cost that much more in this project.

At one point HT was getting hose from a very good manufacturer and if they still are, you can't go wrong there.

I got 15 feet and it was enough to replace all the small diameter hoses. As for the larger ones, I did not replace them on the last go round, but will this time. I will let you know in a few months when it comes time to run the lines.

BTW... I was very happy with the stuff I got from Hose Techniques.

After feeling the hose that came with my boost controller (hallman) and the stuff that I got from hose techniques...I STRONGLY vote for what came with my boost controller, which I think is Purosil.

3.5mm is the the size you need, something in that ball park. Brass T's only...don't use plastic junk...

The other vac hoses...well you probably have to order each one...and that could get Very expensive...As far as clamps I just bought em from my mech. He had the good german stuff.

Ahh, yes brass or stainless steel. But where do you get that stuff 2 or 3 at a time? I haven't been able to find brass or stainless steel in the correct sizes for my S2. Any ideas? I would love to replace the plastic with metal.

It is really hard, Max. You have to piggyback on someone else and get a couple boxes (read 100), which distracted me. I could do it, just didn't think there would be many guys that were interested. Guess what my Ts received as samples are? Can you say Monel?

Now that Pursoil has been brought up, HT bought some product from them in the past. That was what I was noting in my comment, a fine company. Probably just have said it, but they (HT) also did Asian crap that has filler in silicone.

Check out McMaster-Carr ( http://www.mcmaster.com )for all kinds of industrial supplies. I just ordered new hose clamps (smooth-band worm drive) for my intercooler pipes and received them within a few days. No problem ordering individual pieces. I know they have a wide selection of hose materials and various fittings, too.

Hope this helps.

No luck there. I got mine at a mom and pop hardware store in New Jersey. Unfortunately they are no longer there. They had boxes of them.
