Question A/C elimination Kit

I bought the A/C elimination Bracket and shorten belt from Paragon. How does this thing work? Only reason I bought it is one of the mounting points on my A/C compressor is broken off so Im just going to take it off instead of replacing it. My Dad is going to help me do it ( he used to work on these cars ) but I am still kind lost on how this braket is going to help me?

Thanks guys,

Noob Porsche owner--

If you can wait until at least Friday, I'll have my version of the entire AC Delete up on Tech-Session with pics and details. For now, there's a very nice test write-up of the basics by Kevin Kehoe.

<a href="http://www.tech-session.com/Paragon/Tech/944_ac_delete.htm" target="_blank">944 AC Delete</a>

The bracket you have takes the place of the existing bracket that holds the Alternator in place. Basically, you'll be removing the AC compressor and Alternator, then replacing the bracket, and then replacing the alternator with the newer/shorter V-belt. You can finish off the job and remove the entire AC system from the car, to include the condenser, drier, evaporator, and all lines. By selling all my parts at very reasonable costs to other Rennlisters in need, I was able to recoup the bracket costs, and even have enough leftover for a gourmet dinner for two at Denny's

Good Luck!
