Damn Damien, that looks wicked awesome! Almost exactly what I envisioned when we spoke recently. I've got two questions:

How hard would it be to make the four red "squares" on the lights into one undivided piece, like the white updated section? Whether or not that can be done, I definitely want some form of this mod done when the paint gets laid this fall. With the rear valance and the GT racing bumper, that should finish off the rear nicely.

Also, If I can get my engine running right (it sounds like a damn diesel!) we gotta cruise man.

I'll be in touch.. good work Damien!

Wow - that really looks great! Any thought of making some of these for rennlisters? I'm also interested in the feasability of making the remaining red squares on piece like the white you've done. It really looks great against yur burgandy car!
BTW - the Smoked lens looks great too!

I too wonder about the possibility of replacing the 4 piece red section with a single (or at least the full bottom row) sheet to mirror the look of the 1 piece top clear section...have you mentioned that to your fabricators at all?

Ok guy's

What you see in the pictures was all fabricated by me. It is my job to first create the finished product for MidLand Plastics so that then they have an exact model for the mass production if enough people are interested. I was first going to have MidLand create the lenses and then fit them as they create the lenses and make adjustments as needed, but this route turned out to be very expensive. So they have provided me with all of the techniques used for cuttuing and shaping of the plastic, so that I could create the model. This way I will get exactly what I want and how I want it. I have tried over 6 different types of plastics before I finnally got the results I am after. I hope to have the final model done before I go on vacation, and then when I would return the process of mass production would begin. I hope that the cost of the lenses will cost inbetween $50 and no more than $100 for both sides.

For those of you who would like their entire tailight clear, this can be done, but another model would have to be created for the bottom lenses, simply because the shape of the bottom corner lense is different. So this would take a bit longer. Now the entire tailight can be clear, but it will still be two lenses, simply because our tailights have a divider seperating the top and bottom lenses. This divider has to be there. And of course the price will also go up. The top three lenses will be replaced with a one piece lense and the same would apply for the bottom 3 lenses.

However it will not be a problem to add the length to the new lense for the top row, so that all three of the top row will be replaced with a one piece clear or smoked lense. Rather than just the two lenses as shown in the pic's on my car. There is some Photoshop work done on a previous page of this post that will give you an idea of the difference in appearence between the two top lenses being clear and the all three being clear. The price will be the same if you would want just two lenses to be replaced or three from the top row.

I hope to have the first sets ready within the next two or three weeks for delivery. I will begin by first selling about 5 sets to various people who are interested and then wait for their feedback before I would sell anymore. My reason for this, is beacause it is not easy to cut out the old lenses and clean up the tailight for installation of the new lense, I don't want to sell 20 sets, and then have 20 complaint's . If the first 5 people are happy then so will the next 5 and so on. But if the first 5 are not happy, then the proper adjustments can be made. It will be easier to deal with 5 people than 20. I hope you understand. I don't want for people to be unhappy.

Also thank you all for the nice words about my work. I will keep everyone updated to the day as promised..

again, great work man your eye for detail really hasn't gone unnoticed. all in all it's a very clean job so far definitely keep up the good work. I think having it the same way you did it on your car would be ideal for myne as well, but my only worries are in the installation of the piece. Is the final product something we could install with household tools or would i have to purchase a dremel or something?

Hey, SoundBoy4

A dremel would very much be needed in order to prep the tailight for thew new lense. It can be done without one, but you will have alot harder time. I bought a nice black and decker dremel with about 150 attachments and a toolbox for about $55 at WalMart. It has been very handy, good tool to have around.
