I removed my spare tire and fiberglassed a box into the well. I run 2 10' Soundstream Davinci's back there powered by a 1100 watt Soundstream mono sub amp.
I've got mids and highs covered by soundstream components up fron and 6.5's in the rear location, powered by a Soundstream 500 Watt 4 channel amp.

Check out my setup at my car domain homepage.

They have some custom enclosures. They go in the cubby holes, and they're making one for a sparetire hole.

Another vote for the KLA sub. I have been in slevy951's car,,couple to MB componets,,I think, it is unreal the quality of sound and deep good sounding bass, not to be confused with "gangsters or teenagers who will be deaf by 25".

I am running the KLA 8" Cubbies with Kicker Solos. Mids and Highs are from Polk Component sets, and 1100 watts of Kenwood power.

Not a ton of real low bass, but a very full sound and a great soundstage. If you want to bump, go for the 10" or 12" in the spare tire well.

I would have to say KLA industries also. They use top quality products and you get great sound from a stealth box. Good for you bad for thiefs if they don't know it's there they won't break in to take it.

I don't have pics or web page done yet, but the 10" spare tire sub is just about done. I'm just waiting for interior guy to get it covered then I'll be able to take some pics. It'll replace the spare and use the same mounts. Covered in black carpet. It will hide under the rear carpet and look factory. Pricing will be $129.95 for just the enclosure or $199.95 with a 10" RF driver installed

i have a custom box wrapped in black vinyl holding 1 silver cerwin vega 15" sub that is the size of my hatch right up to the height of the rear seats. hooked up to a 1200w JBL bp600 mono amp and a strike 1.0 digital cap

it slams harder and CLEANER then any sub setup ive heard, its bone crunching bass you can TALK over but its real low.. its hard to explain, but ive had 10's and 12's (2x) that were earache loud...this is way louder, and more tollerable

I have a 10" Bazooka Tube that is attached to the back of the back seats, so that it does not roll around of course. This does not rattle anything in the car, but provides an enormous amount of bass.

I cut out two pieces of plywood using the foam padding pieces in each rear fender well. You can glue the carpeting down to this plywood and cut holes for 6"x9" speakers. Looks very nice, and I can still use the full back for cargo and I don't have to worry about my speakers sliding around when I take corners sharp.

I had a Bazooka Tube in a previous hatchback I owned. Was not overly impressed. I kept thinking I needed to turn it up.
