Hey everybody, I have a problem with my S2. About a second after starting the car it makes a strange noise. It sounds like the starter is getting stuck turning the car on. It sounds like crap! Any ideas? It does about once every three times I start it. Thanks

Your solenoid could be arcing.. Check and make sure the terminals aren't too close. Your ignition switch could also be bad.

Think he means the wires. had a similar thing. The terminals are very close together and the wires can end up touching.

could be the starter is sticking in the 'drive' position in mesh with the flywheel.
Try cleaning the shaft.

Bruce is probably right. The pinion gear gets stuck with all the clutch dust. Clean the dust off. Does screech pretty horrible when this happens.
