Question How do I get the oil pressure sender off?

Ok, I disconnect the oil pressure sender wires and try to take off the unit itself - but I can't get it off. Anybody have any tips on how to get some decent torque on that baby? I was thinking oil filter wrench - anybody tried this? Or am I just a weakling with absolutely no wrist strength, that's always a possibility...

It has 24mm hex flats at it's base where it screws into the fitting. So a 24mm wrench, or a thin adjustable, would be a good place to start...

I used a 24mm deep socket and a ton of extensions(3 or 4). With the front tire off you pretty much have a straight shot at it.

hmmm, I don't recall having to tug too hard at this particular item on the several occasions that I have messed with them. The right tool makes a big difference here. Try using a 24mm stubby wrench, or else drop your sway bar to get a better shot at it.

My problem was the wrench having thick 'tines.' I was able to get it done with difficulty, but If I do it again I plan to grind down a cheap 24mm wrench, and shorten it as well.

On my 84' I dropped the belly pan and used a crows foot with an extension of course. It worked great. I have also used a 30deg/60deg Snap-on angle wrench to pop it loose from inside the engine compartment. I got in front of the oil filter to loosen the sender up. Hope this helps!
Best of luck!
