How important is it to replace the relay for the headlight motor with the exact same Amp unit? Mine had a 15amp in it, I found a 75amp at the parts store-but i don't want to make an assumption-and do something stupid. Do you have the paqrt number interchange?
Thanks-

Ben, you found a unit rated at 75 amps?! That is very unusual - how much does it cost?
Relays are rated on how much current they can handle before they burn up or break prematurely. So higher is better but 75 amps is really overkill.
Don't worry about part numbers - that is just a standard relay. All you need to do is match the pin configuration and the pin numbers, i.e. 30, 86, 87, etc. Just bring your old relay along to compare.
The 75 amp will work fine but if it costs much over 5 to 7 bucks, go with a 30 or 40 amp relay which should be a bit cheaper but work better than the OEM. Try and get a major brand name like Hella or Tyco. They are usually built to higher quality standards and the contacts last longer.

Bought it for $5.90 at O'Reilly Auto Parts. We opened the book and looked for something that would match mine. The one that matched pin comnfiguration was from a Dodge Truck, I swear it said 75a in the description, I'll double check that tonight.
By the by-it's a Borg Warner (BWD) part.
