Yes:

Unfortunately no. All units are shipped via my company. I have to ship "x" number of units to get a flat rate, otherwise due the size of the package ship cost would be closer to $50-$60.

I am repeating to myself, in my head, using the voice of my wife "You need to make sure the engine is 100% before you buy any cosmetic pieces" over and over and over again... Hopefully my test equip shows up soon....

you say V3 isn't far behind the first batch of V1s?

Similar, except her car (which she doesn't drive) needs its full-sized spare replaced. I'll be waiting for V3.

If the Designs for the NA's have passed legal, does this mean we will be seeing that design soon? I look forward to what you have for us, and really appreciate giving us NA'ers something cool, which is very rare.

Yes. That design is 80% complete, I found it easier to submit both designs for patent approvals at the same time. I will be finding a local NA to get another template (verify clearances, mounting holes etc..) to finalize the design. Then I will have to decide to either do a molded splitter (read: more expensive) or a moldless design, which will make the NA version substantially cheaper then the 951 version.

Also, as for NA products, I have clear lenses for your cars

The fronts, front sides and rear sides...also available in a smoked finish.

Unfortunately no. The V3 is a similiar design with greater protrusion length and also includes adjustable race support hardware.

Estimated cost on these are bewteen $300- $350. Final numbers will be in, in a few weeks.

I don't understand why you would (and how you could) patent a simple plastic splitter for a 20 year old car?

Really? You don't think its a good idea to protect himself from someone buying one, making a mold from it and selling knockoffs at a discount while he absorbs the development cost?

Also, it is pretty clear when you see the pics that this is a fairly different looking splitter than are currently available. Also, it doesn't matter how old the thing is that you are designing an accessory for. The AR15 rifle was designed like 40 years ago, and yet new products come out for them all the time. You can bet they are patented, and you can bet people try to rip off designs and get into lawsuits over it.

I'm not knocking his design and I'm glad people are still making new parts for these cars. ABS plastic makes a lot more sense than fiberglass for this kind of part and I hope he does well with them. But it seems like you would have to sell an awful lot of splitters just to pay for the cost of the patents (I've always been told a patent costs about $10k). Then if someone copied you it would cost you even more to try and defend your patent. If someone altered the design slightly you'd probably lose the suit anyway since a splitter is not exactly a new ground breaking idea, it's not like no one has ever put a splitter on a 944. I just don't understand why a small business would go through the hassle and expense for this kind of part. Anyway sorry for the OT and I'm not trying to start an argument, it just struck me as an odd thing to do.

You can use my N/A once I get the W/P and T/B swapped out...
