Well... I'll find him. All I want is my parts back. If there is any **** about it, he'll speak with one of my lawyers. End of story.

I really don't think it will go that far. He has been a very apologetic person so far, and a decent guy on the phone. I would find it hard to believe he would just up and leave.

As far as where he shop is, I'll have him check again. My friend grew up out there, and drove Vance Ave beginning to end looking for it. Unless his shop is in the back yard of a house, there is no commercial area there.

Perry, I know where you're coming from re. $400 worth of gaskets, seals.
I have a stock head gasket, you are also welcomed to, so at least you would'nt have to spring for the head set.
i was really only offering it temporarily, but if your parts are lost, i would make you a deal on it.
I've visited Garrity's site and the building interior pictures look like a pretty nice sized shop, but the internet can be a funny place, and those pic's could be from anywhere.
I did notice somewhere that he had some parts for sale, mosly 3.0 liter cranks, that, if he were continuing operations, he'd surely have a use for.
Let this be a lesson for some people here, when complaining about not being able to get hold of Tim, Derik, at SFR or Huntley for a day or two.
These places are legit, and people have visited the physical properties at least.

Arias pistons WILL make one-off's for you.
Let me know what the best price for 1st over standard factory pistons {dealer) you can get, I'm almost certain I can beat it.

On a side note, I just learned, through private email from Dan S., known here as Dan87951, that after his latest dealer clutch rip off, he's had enough and is looking to sell both his 944T's.
Just goes to prove that even dealers can be shady. It saddens me to see someone make all the attempts Dan made to be a Porsche lover and have his hopes squashed by some pretenders.
This forum is losing a valued member IMO.

RIBS, glad to see your posting regularly again..

Cheers all.........

Suprise Suprise, no call from him today, and no answer at his shop.

Ian has a set of factory overs with rings set to go for a good price. If I can ever get in touch with Garrity to send the block, things should be fine.

Funny thing is I know he is getting my messages. You do not have to wait long for it to go to the message prompt, and he also changed to OGM 2 times now. I cannot figure this out. All I know is that I am about ready to call the police and report a theft. That is about all I can do from here. This all would not happen if he just returned the stuff.

Come on guys. One of you in St. Louis, just one, can you swing by his shop and see what is up? There is not a lot I can do in Cincinnati at this point other than calling the police. I do not want to resort to that.

Please, help a brother out. Thanks.

All this bad talk about Garrity makes me happy I didn't buy the Pauter rods he was selling at a "too good to be true" price. I'm sure I would have been ripped off... he did send me an email about them recently and his email is listed in the Rennlist Classifieds ad if it's still up.

This is the address Garrity sent me:

Garrity
4430 Vance Avenue
Woodson Terrace, MO 63134

I was at his house at the beginning of the month. There was a 944 tub on a cart, 4 928s inside, several engines, many heads, etc. Like I said before, he definitely has a pile of stuff going on.

Good luck

That is the shipping address I sent my motor to. The 4460 on the site is a home that has been sold. I will have someone check out the 4430.

A lot going on or not, someone should be able to find him, and he should be able to call me back.

So are you sure that is his home, and he is still there? If so, it makes it easier for me to have the thin blue line stop by. Are the pics on his site the shop, or is that somewhere else. Also, is the shop behind the house?

All the info is appreciated.

Perry - have you tried contacting Rob Langley (Rob's 944 Board) for some contact info. I believe he is still in contact with Garrity.

Perry,

I don't know if it is his home, or if he lives there or not, but I do know that the garage in back had all of the stuff I described. (I probably saw your engine while I was looking around.) There was no for sale sign on the house, 3 weeks ago.

The neighbors knew him as I had time to talk to them while waiting for the guy to show up. All this while I have a taxi waiting... but that's another story.

9:23pm... Ring Ring.

It is Garrity. I explained my displeasure on how long it had taken for him to return the call right off the bat, and he quickly says he has been out of town for a few weeks. I followed with "I've called daily for the last 2 months." His reply is.. "Huh." "Well the pistons aren't in." He could have cared less as far as I could tell. I really hope everyones praise of his work is true, or this has been a BIG waste of time and a lot of money.

Needless to say, the boxes are being shipped COD Friday morning, and he said he would call tomorrow with the grand total. He did say he is not accepting more work, and he is going to finish all the stuff he has there, a lot of it.

So, Garrity is in STL, call him tomorrow and leave many messages. With luck, he'll call back. Still cannot figure this one out. You would think that a call every day for over 2 months would ring a bell that I needed something. Guess not. Another chapter in the ill fated rebuild, I guess.
