Default rain gutter seal

Hey guys, last fall I pulled the gutter seals above the doors that run along the roofline to get the car painted. Ordered new ones and now I cant't remember how they go back in. I need to know how deep they go in the recess and how the orientation goes. What part of the seal faces the top of the roof/gutter. If someone could take a look, I can't find any info on this one. thanx

I don't know if the was any different on the earlies, but as it applies to 85.5 and newer, you need to have the rain gutters completely out to re-install the seals. When the assembly is installed, it follows the roof line and just makes contact with the rest of the roof, bridging the gap. It sits in a channel, so depth shouldn't be an issue.

If you left the rest of the gutters on during paint (or even if they were off and are back on now) be very careful popping the clips to get them off to do this install. Wrap a flat-tip screwdriver in lots of tape and use shop towels/other protection around the areas you are prying in to get them off.
