hey i have an 83 944... bone stock with approx 26,000 on the odo. i bought it with 18,000 on it. it has yellow shocks in the back and black with blue stickers in the front. also has a rear sway bar. is this an option to have konis in the back and not in front??? or is the car a freak of Porschedom? to my knowledge nothing has been changed on the car, its totally stock. TIA
Mike
Have a look at the rear shocks for a manufacturer and model # - should be stamped on the case, but may be hard to locate. Sachs/Boge shocks sometimes come in yellow, as do Monroes (of a different shade than the Konis - school bus yellow - and the orange of earlier years).
Your front struts are of the rebuildable variety which accept inserts - no way to tell what's inside unless you open them up. You can tell a recent Koni Sport strut by the top (in the engine bay) - it will have the adjustment tab instead of a Allen inset.
More than likely, neither are Koni's - and there was no option for mismatched shocks.
