Need pic of OPRV
Was wondering if anyone has a picture of the location of the OPRV, can't find one. I want to take out my OPRV but I'm not sure where it is. looks like one of the big bolts next to the oil pressure sender?
thanks.
thanks.

You could try going here:
http://www.porsche.com/usa/accessori...spdfcatalogue/
And then look up the 944 catalog, Engine Section, lubrication.

thanks. so it's just the bolt right below the oil sender? do I just unscrew it and pull it out. I know it says for the 85.5 it is a 3 piece unit. will it fall apart when I take it out?
thanks.
thanks.

won't I need a new gasket and seals to put it back in. in other words I wouldn't be able to take it out and clean it and put it back in today correct?
thanks for the pic, I'll go and try and remove it right now.

Here is a link to Clark's procedure (http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/lube-02.htm) which states the following.
I think the operative word here is "should". Take care of the O-rings during disassembly/re-assembly and you should be OK (assuming of course that they are OK to begin with). Not replacing the aluminum seal ring "could" result in a future leak, so take that into consideration.
Your PS pump (if you have one) might be in the way. I removed the PS stuff a while ago so I don't remember exactly.
* Each relief valve has an O-ring (944 107 935 11) and an aluminum seal ring (N 043 815 3) which should be replaced each time the relief is removed.

I used a long extension and the oprv seems to be stuck on there I used a pry bar and I just broke the extension and it didn't budge.....
are they really in there that tight?
and to be 100% sure it's a 17mm bolt head right? anyways my pry bar wouldn't get it out... and I broke a freakin extension

okay got it out. mine is an 85.5 and the valve is just a spring with basicly to ends? I'm not sure how it is suppose to work. no seals on mine.
anyways clarks says you can try turning the motor over to see if oil comes out of the hole where the relief valve was.
so should i remove the ignition wire and crank the car to see if oil squirts out? if not then it's an oil pump problem according to clark.

That pic is a late one, but they are similar in appearance.
And yes, crank over the engine (not running) to see if oil shoots out.
How long ago did you do the oil pan gasket? maybe you bumped the oil feed line and its wiggled its way off or something.
