Post Interior Electronics

Hey guys,
The other thread about wiring in our 944's prompted me to ask a question that has been bothering me since I got my car.

I have gone through 3 stereo decks in the past year and with each one of them I was not able to bring the volume past a certain level because the deck would just blank out (this due to lack of current or something.) I don't know if there's a problem in my wiring or if it's the way all of the pre 85.5 porsche 944s are. It just seems to me that my interior electronics aren't getting the voltage they need to function properly. Could the wrong type of fuse lead to this sort of problem? Or could it be a weak alternator? I'm lost.

BYPASS THE FACTORY FADER... the deck is probably getting too much speaker current BACK into it because it cant all get thru the fader.. if that doesnt work, then it might be your power wire.. run a new one thru the firewall to the battery.

These cars have factory 2 ohm speakers. Most stereos require 4 ohms. That would cause the amp to blow its protection circuit, or worse...

Make sure you measure before you get speakers. There are clearance issues.
