oh no I think I blew up my engine (no oil pressure)
As you guys may know, I just finished with the stripped torque tube ordeal and new clutch in my car.
today I go and start my car and let it idle for 5 minutes like usual and when I come back i notice the car sounds different and there is no oil pressure at all showing on the dash. I just raised the car and checked teh tightness of the oil pressure pump bolt and it is tight.
oil is also filled up. for some reason it kind of looks like it is overfilled? it wasn't maybe it is the angle of the garage.
also I'm running mobil 1 15w50 and kN oil filter.
looks like i may have a bad engine bearing???
if I do this looks like the sad end of my 944..... I've spent so much money and time on it and can't believe this would happen.
I just finished putting a new timing / balance belt on it also and I have kept up all the maintenance on it and it has 259,000 kms on it......

huh? how could it be any worse? I just spent 3 grand putting a new clutch and torque tube in and now I lost oil pressure and I have replaced almost everything on the car except engine internals.
this is as bad as it gets..... now I have to get rid of it and buy another car.....

well mine has been running fine still starts up and runs but no oil pressure now......
in september I blew up my torque tube on the first week of classes and now again this semester on the second week of classes looks like i blew up my engine with a brand new clutch just installed......
i am the most unlucky person alive......
I need to sell this car asap now so I can buy a new car.... i'm thinking of just buying a brand new car so I get a freakin warranty.

Sorry to hear about both of you. I have been there. I know what its like to have a broken 951 on a students budget. Might be time to sell it or garage it. There are more important things to spend the money on. They do break alot and they are expensive to fix, but we knew that going in. Its a 20+ year old Porsche.

well it's not that it breaks too much...... actually minor things rarely have gone wrong with the car......
when things break on my 944 they are major things...... like torque tube stripping or engine blowing up.
if I had a leaking water pump or oil leak etc I would be happy. I also wasted so much money on preventative maintenance such as timing belts / water pump fuel lines etc when the engine and torque tube were going to blow up on me anyways.

even if they break alot with all the maintenance I have done and only 259,000 kms on it I would think the motor should last a bit longer. I run mobil 1 and use KN oil filters and change them regularly.
yesterday I kept the car in 4th year on the freeway adn was cruising at around 4,000 rpm a little high I guess but still the motors should be more durable on a "porsche".

still it only has 259,000 kms on it. you would expect things like rubber and gaskets to leak and deteriate but a motor should last longer than that. american cars go 400,000 kms..... why shouldn't a porsche.
I"m not so sure about porsche quality anymore..... look at the boxsters and 996s a lot of their engines grenade before 100,000 kms IMS failures. there are tons of 80s toyotas that have 400,000 kms on them and only had minor repairs.
