For a while now my car has this annoying tendency to occasionally buck or jerk. The best way to describe it is the fuel cuts off for a split second. It just happens under moderate acceleration. If I really give it hell it rarely happens. I have replaced the fuel filter, DME relay, TPS and fuel pressure regulator. Any more suggestions. Possibly the fuel pump, how hard is it to change. Should I be able to hear the fuel pump when standing at the rear of the car? I really don't want to give up and take it to the mechanic.....
I refuse!!!
Maybe it could be a ground???

Done that too...One more thought is the Air Flow Meter. I have heard that the door in there can get gunked up and prohibit it from moving freely. Any ideas on how to clean it? It seems that the box on the top has sealant around it. How would I get inside there??

Michael: I had the same thing happen to me at the track last week - first time I ever had this problem, and it cleared up after one lap and didn't come back.
I talked with a couple 944T guys afterwards, and one said it could be the DME relay, that he had the same sypmtom during normal around-town driving occasionally, and changing the DME relay fixed it. You've already tried that, however.
The second guy I talked to had a similar symptom a couple years ago, and he said he found some corrision on the electrical connectors on the air flow meter. He cleaned off the corrosion and no problems since.
Except for the problems on that one lap at the track last Monday, I haven't had anything happen since then, so I'm not at the point yet to start pulling out electrical stuff to clean/replace. If it was the fuel pump, I'd think it would happen more frequently, and keep getting worse. Sounds more to me like an electrical issue than a mechanical one.

I'll give that a try, thanks!
My car did it once, then not at all for about two weeks. Occasionally more and more.
